Each time, T2 has brought together local professionals with guest artists from around the country to produce its brand of exceptional theatre -- theatre that's as entertaining as it is life provoking. TheatreSquared will be performing Moonlight & Magnolias, by Ron Hutchinson, on September 5th and 6th at 8pm & September 7th at 2pm. Ticket prices $22 / $18 for seniors.

Arkansas Playwrights Workshop
Open to everyone in the community, this group is dedicated to nurturing new plays and playwrights, helping to foster new works for the American stage while providing a safe place for writers to work on their craft. In residence at the Fayetteville Public Library since 2003, APW is directed by Robert Ford, Artistic Director for TheatreSquared. This team of writers is presenting readings of original plays at the arts festival at 2pm on Saturday, September 6th. For information about the Arkansas Playwrights Workshop, contact Bob Ford at, bob@theatresquared.org Ticket price $7.

National Writing Project
The National Writing Project is the premier effort to improve writing in America. NWP is a nationwide nonprofit education organization that promotes K-16 teacher training programs in the effective teaching of writing. This professional development program, for teachers, helps improve their writing skills, and in turn, helping to develop those amongst their students. The project serves more than 100,000 teachers at approximately 200 sites, and has served over 2 million teachers and administrators since its inception 1974. Local educators meet at the UofA for 4 weeks at a summer invitational and write in a variety of genres to discover the writer within. We are fortunate to have a site here in Northwest Arkansas at the UofA. A few of the writers from this project will be reading short pieces of their works on Saturday, September 6th. At 3:45pm. For more information, please visit their website at, http://www.nwp.org. This is a free event.

24-Hour Play Festival
One of the most popular events of the Fayetteville Arts Festival, the 24-Hour Play Festival challenges even the most seasoned actors, directors and playwrights. The concept is quite simple: each team is given very specific guidelines and 24 hours to create a fully produced 10 minute play before they present to a live audience. Good, bad or ugly - all of the plays are performed to the delight of the audience. This exciting event will take place on Sunday, September 7th, at 6pm. Ticket price $10.

Splash Theatre
The 2008 Fayetteville Arts Festival adds a new element to the exciting weekend line up. This years new offering is Splash Theatre! TheatreSquared and Ceramic Cow Productions will present an exhibition performance of Splash Theatre in which there are two teams - one from TheatreSquared and one from Ceramic Cow. TheatreSquared will write a 10 minute script for the Ceramic Cow team and vice versa. Two actors from each company will receive the script written for them a month in advance, however neither actor knows who will be their acting partner. There are no rehearsals. The actors memorize their lines independently and only discover who their fellow actor is the moment the curtain goes up at the performance! This is a free (and exciting) event.
